Jungle survival. How to find and catch eels by hand. Being able to survive away from creature comforts depends on many things. Not in any particular order, except this first rule: Keep calm and keep your head. Once you loose it, super fit/healthy or not, you and your comrades could be in big trouble. After this, what is going to help you the most (all things being equal, and they may not be) is what lies between your ears, that is your knowledge of your environment and situation (if possible for the latter). The less knowledge you have of these things the more difficult of a situation you might be in. You may need to find water, food and shelter and above all get rescued. You may also need to avoid capture/detection.

In this Jungle survival video I demonstrate a simple way to possibly locate food dependent on where you are. Eels are great travellers, breeding in the sea and moving into fresh waters around the globe, to spend a large part of their lives in rivers and creeks until returning once again to the sea to breed. Eels are good to eat and can be prepared in many ways, one of which is to smoke them and as an oily fish, they will last without the need for refrigeration. BUT you have to be able to know where to look for them .

Finding food and water is vital in any instance whether jungle survival or simply on extended camping trips where it is not possible to carry all your food and water.
