The BIG Q vol VII: Is responsible AI possible? | ARQUIMEA

Описание к видео The BIG Q vol VII: Is responsible AI possible? | ARQUIMEA

The rise of Artificial Intelligence has brought with it some challenges and ethical considerations that need to be addressed by governments, international organisations, technology companies, the academic and research community, users and consumers, and civil society in general. Some of these challenges are:
- Transparency and explainability:
- Privacy:
- Prejudice and Fairness:
- Employment Impact:.
- Disinformation and manipulation of public opinion:
- Intellectual Property:
- Use for malicious activities:
- Autonomy and Control:
These risks highlight the importance of developing and implementing AI ethically and responsibly, ensuring that its benefits are maximised while mitigating its potential dangers.
Some of the strategies to start implementing to achieve this include:
Education and Training: AI ethics needs to be included as a fundamental part of the training of developers and data scientists.
Cross-sector collaboration: collaboration between stakeholders should be fostered to develop and maintain responsible AI standards, and communities should be created to share best practices and advances.
Continuous Research and Development: the development of tools to help detect and mitigate biases is needed, as well as further research into methods to improve the transparency and explainability of algorithms.
In short, achieving responsible AI is a shared task that requires the collaboration of multiple actors and only through a coordinated and transversal effort can we ensure that AI is developed and used in a way that maximises its benefits and minimises its risks.
ARQUIMEA, from its research center located in the Canary Islands, has an orbital dedicated to research in the field of Artificial Intelligence with projects dedicated to the discovery of new drugs, AI safety engineering for autonomous driving systems, or accelerated 3D modelling through deep neural networks.

In addition, all ARQUIMEA Research Center projects belong to the QCIRCLE project, co-funded by the European Union, which aims to create a center of scientific excellence in Spain.
