Tetra Pak and Quantis will present a three-part value-chain analysis that included: a water footprint to quantify water use (consumption and pollution), water risk assessment to map and prioritize geographical locations according to basin and operational water risks, and the development of a water strategy focusing on implementation of actions and monitoring identified KPIs across prioritized value chain sections and locations.

Tetra Pak decided to map its value chain to identify water impacts and risks to develop a comprehensive water strategy and targets. Going through the assessments, the company engaged a variety of internal stakeholders and increased its understanding of processes and actions that needed to be put in place to implement water stewardship. This included awareness raising, governance and operational aspects which will be presented during the session.

Tetra Pak and Quantis wish to share this experience with the audience to shed light on the practical steps a company can take to initiate and start implementing a water stewardship approach anchored in science-based assessments.
