Lavrov meets German FM Heiko Maas in Moscow

(21 Aug 2019) Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov met his German counterpart Heiko Maas in Moscow on Wednesday for talks at the Russian foreign ministry.
At the beginning of their meeting both ministers commented on the topics for discussion.
Maas said both Russia and Germany had a "great responsibility for (solving) existing conflicts and crises".
Ahead of the meeting with Lavrov, German Foreign Ministry spokesperson Rainer Breul was quoted by Russian media as saying that the ongoing war in eastern Ukraine would be high on the agenda.
