Hidden in the hills of St. Thomas, Jamaica, stands the historic Stokes Hall Great House - a powerful reminder of the island's plantation past.

In this video, I walk from the outside to the inside of this old colonial Great House, exploring its structure, history, and the role Great Houses played during Jamaica's plantation era. These buildings were once the center of large estates, where plantation owners lived and controlled the land that produced sugar, rum, and other crops.

But behind the beauty and size of Great Houses lies a deeper story - one connected to slavery, resistance, and the transformation of Jamaica after emancipation.
