Severn Valley Railway Autumn Steam Gala 2024

Last weekend (19th - 22nd September) saw the Severn Valley Railways Autumn Gala take place. An event I always look forward to every year on my home railway. The visiting locos were Jubilee 45596 Bahamas, West Coast Railways Black 5 44932 and L&Y Tank 11456 from East Lancs giving it a bit of a midlands feel. Didcots 2999 Lady Of Legend was the other visitor which will be featured more in the upcoming days. The gala was an excellent one and although the weather wasn’t the best it still didn’t stop people from coming. With overcast days forecasted it allowed me to try some different locations that would usually be wrong side of the sun or in shadow at this time of year. Here’s my top 5 favourites from the gala featuring L&Y Tank, Jubilee and finally Black 5.
