Located in New York City, Church of the Intercession is one of the oldest in Washington Heights, and my interpretation of Chopin’s Impromptu was meant to be a riveting throw-back to the old days in Manhattan.

A nine-foot Steinway piano, as found in those impressive concert halls, could have conveyed a finer touch of clarity and finesse, but I am not sure whether a seance (with the haunting souls of yesteryears) could be as effective unless we are totally engrossed, absorbed and captivated in the uncanny voices and echoes of old churches.

A true spiritual life seems to be one of precious memories among time-stricken places still exuding the ethos of the past.
