Anima Christi, Marco Frisina, (Organ arrangement: Duarte Domingues)

Although it’s not my usual style of organ music, I recorded this unbelievable beautiful piece from Marco Frisina (1954-) in a plain, singable style. Frisina is an Italian Roman Catholic priest and composer. There are many beautiful renditions of this piece, but not so many played on pipe organ. “Anima Christi” is a Catholic prayer, written in the 14th century. The authorship is normally attributed to Saint Ignatius of Loyola. For the ones who like to sing the words I’ve added the latin text in the piece. The words add, but even without the words the music gives comfort. For everyone. Religious or not.
