Jyotisar is around 12 kms away from Brahmasarovar. This is the place where Lord Krishna delivered Gitopadesh to Arjun who was confronted while seeing his relatives and friends on the opposite side with Duryodhan. He was reluctant to start the war and Krishna advised him wisely about birth and death and the transfer of soul from one body to other like changing cloth.

An age old Banyan tree is standing now too which was the witness of Gitopadesh and war. Aadi Shankaracharya located this place while on his way to Himalayas.
