I Made This Old Ladder Look New Again!

Fiberglass Ladder Repair "Restoration". In this video I am restoring a fiberglass step ladder. My ladder had sun damage, UV damage and the hard fiberglass resin was weathered and worn out. This left my ladder with the fiberglass fibers exposed and sluffing off. Every time I would use this ladder I would get fiberglass splinters and scratches not to mention I would be itchy for days!

My process was simple. After a thorough scrubbing with soapy water followed by a rinse and dry time, I used 80 grit then 129 grit sanding sponges to smooth tall surfaces of my ladder. After using my compressor to blow off all of the sanding debris I applied a gloss clear coat enamel. This spray method was to apply several light coats of clear enamel waiting about 10 minutes in between coats. Afterwards I allowed my fiberglass ladder to dry in the sun.

This is an easy DIY fiberglass ladder restoration method. In fact its very beginner friendly!
