Last Indian Village | सीमान्त ग्राम माणा (Garhwal Trip: Part 3)

In this video I am visiting Mana (माणा) village which is also known as the "Last Indian Village". This place is located in the district of Chamoli in the Indian state of Uttarakhand, located at an altitude of 3,200 meters. Mana is the last village before the Mana Pass and is 26 kilometres from the border of India and Tibet The village is at a distance of about 3 km from the Hindu Pilgrimage Badrinath.

Mythological Backstory:
The traces of Hindu mythology are visible in this village.

Vyas Gufa & Ganesh Gufa: It is believed that Ved Vyas (वेद व्यास) composed four Vedas here. There is a cave where Ved Vyas used to live. There is also one another cave where it is believed that Ganesha wrote the indian epic Mahabharata, and it was recited to him by Veda Vyas.

Bheem Pul: It is believed that this bridge was created by Bheem (one of the Pandavas) over the Saraswati River. Legend says that Bheem placed a rock to make way for Draupadi to cross the river during their journey to heaven.

Vasudhara: It is a waterfall, which is located 5 kms away from Mana. It is believed that Pandavas temporarily stayed here during their exile.

It is believed that Pandavas did their last journey from Mana to Satopanth (Swargarohini Glacier). There is a lake named Satopanth Tal is located in the midst of snow-capped peaks at an altitude of around 4,600 metres
