“Homage to Leonardo”

The aim of the project “Homage to Leonardo” to create an immersive digital environment by installing in the sacral space the spatial transparent structures to be screens for moving imagery exploring the idea of ‘liquid modernity’.
I‘m interested in the architecture places with history that are meaningful for the people. My work offers a dialogue between conceptions of spatial experience and the reformatting of space/time relationships from video to immersive environments. The spatial structures, made of metal-plastic tube and mosquito net (2-8 kg), shape the constellations that are capturing and decoding the vibrations of our time.
This could be a visual research of specific architecture space within the limits of wide row of interrelations. Presentation of immersive environment in sacred space, which at the same time combines cosmic and divine space, strengthens the thinking about the transcendental and existence of human being. In immersive space, everything appears as a single metaphysical space-time, in which the divine and the medial, the cosmic and the mystical, the scientific and the artistic merge.
A time-space in the project will be presented as an immersive environment, which can be revolved with acceleration in an art collider, activating a mechanism of audio-visual jumps, where certain fragments can gradually be substituted by archival videos and followed by subsequent visual “transmutations” (term by Marie Curie).
The Möbius in a project refers to the symbol of the introspection, the eternal return or cyclicality, the infinite cycle of nature’s endless creation and destruction, life and death. The Möbius strip is a two-dimensional compact manifold. Through the spatial ideas project appeals to the physics search for Universe understanding. According to superstring theory, at every point in our four-dimensional space, a 6-dimensional Calabi-Yau manifold is attached. Approaching Calabi-Yau manifold I’m restructuring the space. The reformatting of the perception of time-space relations takes place in the images of flowing spaces, where the mechanism of plasmoid "transmutations" is activated. Distortion works for the image and there are many semantic transformations, bridges and references in the digital environment. It is an art that is a testament to today's distorted mutated reality. A project takes a keen sense of spatial structure to form this experience: the philosophy and the physics of critical mass and emergence, of the conditions that yield the new, the unimaginable, the unthinkable. The urgent need to follow the crucial mutations of reality, due to changing perceptions of the modern world, requires referring to the context of 'liquid modernity' (Zygmunt Bauman). "Homage to Leonardo" will deal with the sacral space, where human being is immersed into cosmogonic fluid environment, which can be read as Vibrant Reminder and Veritable Revelation. Sense of project's spatial media experience consists in a way a viewer could be wrapped with these visual experiments and could test metaphysical time-space, dipped in incarnate reality among multidimensional spaces with their own sets of correspondences. In an age, where the plurality of truths is reflected in the curves of media-mirrors, intellectual exercises and visual messages can be considered as an important navigator for orrientation. The “Homage to Leonardo” project addresses the issues of metaphysical time-space and global challenges in the era of the algorithm.
The "Homage to Leonardo" project raises the question: is a person a particle in the system of accelerators of global forces, or the energy of interaction investigating new values, new forms of thought and new ways of existence in the world? The project is intended to transmit the vibrations of the "universal mind that speaks to the human" (Petar Ćuković).
Oksana Chepelyk, artiste vidéaste ukrainienne, présente son œuvre Hommage à Léonardo réalisée pendant sa résidence aux Dominicains de Haute-Alsace, France dans les cadres de l'"Odyssee Program" de l'ACCR - Association des Centres culturels de rencontre .
« Leonardo a peint La Cène […] avec des plantes, et maintenant nous peignons avec la lumière et des images en mouvement ».
A l’image de celui de De Vinci, le travail d’Oksana interroge à la fois les principes mathématiques et la poésie qui régissent l’univers.
