Hazard Reduction Burning Program | NSW National Parks

Описание к видео Hazard Reduction Burning Program | NSW National Parks

This short video provides a glimpse into the challenges and complexities of the NPWS hazard reduction burning program. The NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) is committed to protecting the community and the environment against the threat of bush fires.

The management of fine fuels under a statewide hazard reduction burning program is carried out each year in cooperation with the NPWS and state's other fire fighting agencies - the NSW Rural Fire Service, Fire and Rescue NSW and Forestry Corporation NSW.

This is a program that involves more than 1300 highly trained NPWS fire fighters who take great pride in their work. In the 2012-13 financial year they managed to treat more than 206,000ha in more than 300 separate controlled burning operations.
