"Believe me" is an art installation featuring a self-reflective wall exorcising meditation about one's character, actions, and motives. Signifying language, value and principles, the wall is constructed of thousands of 3x5 inch gold panels transcribed in Braille with the inflammatory, derogatory and narcissistic words, spoken and texted by U.S. President Trump. The title "Believe me" is taken directly from Trump’s language as a means to convince, impress and validate his claims. Punched in Braille on inexpensive gold foil paper and codified to intentionally obstruct information, the wall challenges and entangles the viewer within its composition, materiality and irony. "Believe me" is a time-based work growing daily and only reach its completion the day Trump is out of the President’s office. A unique, hand-made book accompanies the wall. The book like the wall continually grows its list of words, indexing, vocabulary, graphics and a statement. As an individual, parent, educator, and a US citizen, this level of language used by Trump or anyone in a public forum is unacceptable.
