"This is a new series. Which planets are benefic for which Ascendant (Ascendant) and which planets are malefic for which Ascendant are explained in this series. In each Dasa (Major Period) and Antardasa’s (Minor / Sub Periods) some effects are good, and some effects are bad. Depending upon our Ascendant, some planets give good results some give bad results. Normally, Saturn, Rahu, Mars, Sun and Ketu are considered malefic (evil) planets and Moon, Mercury, Venus and Jupiter are considered benefic (good) planets. But depending on Ascendant, natural benefic planets give evil results and natural malefic planets give good results. It all depends on Ascendant. Now we will see which planets give good results for Aries Ascendant and which planets give evil results for Aries Ascendant. By knowing these effects, we can plan our ourselves in respective Major and Minor periods for optimization of benefits and reduction of evil effects in areas like job, business, marriage, children etc. By knowing these effects, we can do remedial measures required and bring lifestyle changes and good benefits.
Let us see good and evil planets for Aries (Mesha) Ascendant. Let us first see malefic (evil) planets in whose Major and Sub Periods we should be careful. For any Ascendant, the lords of evil houses – 3rd, 6th, and 11th become malefic. For Aries Ascendant, mercury is lord of 3rd and 6th house. Hence as lord of two evil houses, he becomes highly malefic for Aries Ascendant. Saturn is lord of 11th house Aquarius. Hence, he also malefic for Aries Ascendant. Hence, one should be careful in Mercury and Saturn Major and Minor periods. Both Mercury and Saturn are natural enemies for Mars, Ascendant lord for Aries. Hence both Saturn and Mercury give most evil effects for Aries Ascendant. Mars is a benefic planet for Aries Ascendant as Ascendant Lord. However, he owns 8th also. 8th is the malefic place to an extent. For Aries Ascendant, Mars owns one good house (Ascendant, Kendra) and one evil house (8th, malefic). However, Aries is ‘Moolatrikona’ house for Mars and hence as the owner of Aries, Mars give good results to a large extent. As 8th lord, Mars gives evil results to some extent. Hence Mars gives 60% good results and 40% evil results. Overall, Mars is a benefic planet for Aries Ascendant.
Venus is the owner of 2nd and 7th house for Aries. Both of them are Maraka (Death Inflicting) houses. 7th is Kendra. Sage Parasara says that when a planet owns two maraka houses, it loses its evil nature and becomes neutral like for Aries Ascendant. Further, as lord of 7th houses, he gives 7th house auspicious results like marriage etc. to a large extent. Hence, though Venus owns two evil houses, for Aries Ascendant, becomes neutral and gives good/bad results depending on placement and aspects. For example, Libra is ‘Moolatrikona’ for Venus and Venus, if situated in Libra forms Malavya Maha Yoga, thereby becoming an extremely benefic planet for Aries Ascendant. Hence, overall, he is a neutral planet for Aries Ascendant and results are based on placement and aspects.
Normally, lords of 4th and 5th give good results as the owner of Kendra and Trine houses. Moon is lord of 4th house and Sun is lord of 5th house for Aries Ascendant. Hence both of them give good results for Aries Ascendant. The 9th house is the most important Trine place. As lord of 9th house, Jupiter is benefic for Aries Ascendant.
Hence, Mercury and Saturn are malefic planets for Aries Ascendant. Moon, Sun, Mars, Jupiter are benefic planets. Venus is neutral and gives results based on his strength depending upon placement. Rahu and Ketu give good or bad results depending on their placement, aspect, and conjunction as they do not own any houses and they are shadow planets.
Normally, when Kendra and Trine lords are in conjunction/combination, it is deemed as raja yoga. However, for Aries Ascendant, when Jupiter (9th lord) and Saturn (10th lord) are in conjunction, Raja Yoga is not formed as Saturn as lord of 11th being his ‘ Moolatrikona’, gives results of 11th more than 10th, thereby weakening the Raja yoga. However, for Aries Ascendant, a combination of Sun and Moon gives Raja yoga as they are lords of 4th (Kendra) and 5th (Trine).
As explained above, when the Dasa (Major Period) / Antardasa (Minor / Subperiod) of Saturn or Mercury comes for Aries Ascendant natives, they should be careful as they are malefic for this Ascendant. Similarly, when Dasa or Antardasa of Sun, Moon, Mars, Jupiter comes, natives should plan for progress in their life as they are benefic for Aries Ascendant.
