This is video #136 in my Final Fantasy VII playthrough. The party returns to Sector 8, where Cloud hopped a train early on in the game. When they climb out of the train tunnel, they are faced with Scarlet and Heidegger, who are operating the Proud Clod. This boss has nothing to steal.

To reduce the Proud Clod's damage, Big Guard is useful. So are Barrier + All and MBarrier + All. To maximize the experience, AP, and gil from this battle, be sure to defeat the Jamar Armor before defeating the Proud Clod. As for damage, Contain-materia spells, Ultima, Comet, Magic Breath, and level 3 magic are all useful. So are ultimate weapons, if you have any. If you're going to go all magical on it, be sure you have Elixirs, Turbo Ethers, and Ethers. Not to mention the W-Item materia.

When Proud Clod gets on its hands and knees, make sure Big Guard or MBarrier is up to reduce the damage from Beam Cannon.

After Proud Clod, Scarlet, and Heidegger are gone, the party will get cloud's Ragnarok weapon. This is a good weapon. To the north, an Elixir and a Mystile can be found in treasure chests. Before continuing on up the scaffolding, make sure to put Barret in the party. This is because you need him in the party to find his ultimate weapon, the Missing Score. The Missing Score is at full power when it is loaded with mastered materia.
