The MLX series was the favorite kit of a number of professional drummers "back in the days", including Dennis Chambers and Jeff Porcaro.

Fantastic drums in 6-ply maple with a warm, full tone and lots of volume.

The set sold here has undergone restoration in the form of a newly lacquered shell in a beautiful white lacquer and the replacement of various hardware parts.

The set was lacquered by the previous owner who started the restoration before we got it in. The set has been assembled, parts have been checked and replaced, and now appears in very good condition.

The paint job is professionally done with a great finish, but some minor traces of wear can be seen under the new paint. This is minimal, but it is mentioned as is not 100% mint.

Most of the hardware on the set is original. We have replaced two of the lugs on the bass drum that were broken. These have been replaced with "coffin lugs" placed on the underside of the bass drum. Other lugs that had bad threads have been fitted with longer screws from Sonor Signature, which make them attach far better than original.

The set consists of 2nd generation 10 and 12 toms, and 1st generation 13,16,22. No significant differences between the 1st and 2nd generation, but this can be seen, among other things, on the vent sleeves and badges.

The set has original floor tom legs with memory locks, the bass drum has original SP30 legs with reversible spikes and rubber feet.
You can choose between various tom-arms. Short arms as pictured for use with a rack, or 2 pcs long + 1 pc short arm if you want the toms mounted on the bass drum. Rack is not included, but can be purchased as an add-on.
