JPM Group was founded back in 1998 by a group of business professionals who raced for personal achievement. From jet-ski racing and then to auto racing, JPM Motorsport participated and won in many races including the annual 12 Hours Merdeka Millennium Endurance races, 2003 to 2013

In 2006, JPM Motorsport began to venture into event management. Some of the highlighted events included the JPM Integra Cup One Make Race Series from 2006 to 2008, first ever Hill Climb event with JPM Berjaya Hills Time Challenge 2009.

The Hill Climb Event was a great success, leading the continuance of its 2nd edition in 2010 again attracting more cars than in 2009. In the same year (2010), more than 60 cars participated in the cross-state Time Challenge Rally organized by JPM Motorsport and officially endorsed by the Kelantan State Government. 2010 was also the year when JPM Motorsport was partially involved in SUPER GT; a world class Grand Touring Race Series. Subsequently, JPM Motorsport negotiated and took over the event from SIC, making the first time ever a world class motorsport event managed by a private venture without government funding.

By 2011, with many creatively well thought off activities and with months of preparation, SUPER GT was recognized by the public and media as one of the best events ever organized in Malaysia with more than 50,000 attendees. In 2012, JPM Motorsport promoted SUPER GT for the 2nd time and revitalized the most successful Super GT Malaysia ever with record breaking crowd of over 76,000. In 2013, JPM was the organizer once again in-conjunction with Super GT 20th anniversary.

In the year 2014 to 2015, JPM Motorsport began supporting local riders to be world champions of MotoGP 2. As JPM Motorsport racing years thrive, by 2016, JPM Motorsport revolutionized from being a racing brand into a classic and rare car collection group, JPM Collection. The idea behind this transformation is based of their passion which led to the interest of investing into cars. From varieties of vintage cars, JPM Collection expanded to hypercars sourced by the JPM team for the purpose of investment. This collection does not only consist normal cars but cars that Mr JP Chin foresee growth in value over time. Making JPM Collection the biggest Private Automotive Collector in South-East Asia.

From there, JPM Collection was established in 2021 to offer limited edition customized merchandises that are designed and manufactured by the JPM in-house team.
