Ready to master Active Directory structure in a hands-on lab? Follow this guided walkthrough to create and organize Organizational Units (OUs) under the CorpNet.local domain using Hyper-V and Server Manager.

OU Structure to Build
Start by creating the following top-level OUs directly under the CorpNet.local domain:
Accounting
Admins
Marketing
Research-Dev
Servers
Support
Workstations
Sales
Next, nest these sub-OUs under the Sales OU:
SalesManagers
TempSales

Lab Execution Steps
Launch the CorpDC Virtual Machine
Open Hyper-V Manager.
In the left pane, select CORPSERVER.
From the Virtual Machines list, double-click CorpDC to start the session.
Access Active Directory Tools
Inside Server Manager, go to the top menu and click Tools - -Active Directory Users and Computers.
Create Primary OUs Under CorpNet.local
In the left navigation pane, right-click CorpNet.local.
Choose New - -Organizational Unit.
Alternatively, use the ribbon icon labeled “Create a new organizational unit in the current container.”
Type the name of the OU (e.g., “Accounting”).
Make sure Protect container from accidental deletion is checked.
Click OK.
Repeat this process for each OU listed above.
Add Sub-OUs Within the Sales OU
Expand CorpNet.local and click on Sales.
Use the same ribbon icon to create new OUs.
Add SalesManagers and TempSales, ensuring protection from accidental deletion is enabled.
