American Light Lager Recipe and Tasting - Homebrew Jar of Destiny - Brew Dudes

Time for a warm weather beer this week with American Light Lager.

Mike's Jar of Destiny beer for this round was BJCP category 1A American Light Lager. The american industrial beer machines have made this the #1 selling beer style in America. It is light and crisp and most notably it is brewed with a heavy hand of adjunct such as corn or rice.

Mike brewed his beer with rice syrup and standard American 2-row. He used Tettnang hops and a touch of Cascade... just because.

Mike chose to go modern with his ferment and put NovaLager to the test. The result was a dry beer with a hint of nobel hop spiciness at the start. The beer could use a few more weeks of conditioning to clear but otherwise it seemed a success.
