In this video, we will scrutinize a piece of visual art from our collection, read a poem, and mix colored water to help you make deeper connections with your kids while at home this week. The mixing of colored water is easy and always impresses the kids as they watch the liquid change hues in front of them. You can take this activity a step further by creating a poem about what sight, smell, taste, touch, or emotion your child might connect with each color. A simple document is provided in the description below to help you both organize your thoughts into a poem similar to the excerpt “​What is Green?​” from the book ​Hailstones and Halibut Bones​ by Mary O’Neil​.
