This MVP 2-Step Stratocaster Relic is part of the Dealer Select Master Vintage Player Series Limited Edition, built exclusively for Make'n Music in the Fender Custom Shop!!! Similar to Fender’s “Nashville Telecaster”, our MVP 2-Step Stratocaster blends the best of both worlds in terms of Strat and Tele design. These special instruments are hand-made to our specs for the Ultimate in Tone, Playability and Feel. Like our other MVP models, the Two Step Stratocaster offers a vintage vibe with all the conveniences of a true modern player's piece. It also comes standard with our super cool “2-Step” Headstock design – which features a tiered Tele over Strat motif. This unique design is exclusive to Make’n Music.

Custom Wiring / Tonal Versatility

A set of Custom Shop pickups Hand Wound by Josefina Campos provide plenty of spank, twang and sparkle with some added heat in the bridge position. We selected our shop favorite combination of the Twisted Tele neck pickup and Original Blackguard (OBG) bridge pickup, and paired them with a Master Design Bone Tone Stratocaster pickup in the middle position. Custom Wiring with a 5-way switch, Master Volume, Master Tone, and dual S1 switches hidden discreetly in the center of each knob, allows for an unbelievable array of practical and usable sounds – all easily and efficiently selectable.

When activated, the S1 switch in the Volume Knob puts the NECK + BRIDGE pickup combination at your fingertips. The S1 switch in the Tone Knob activates the BRIDGE + MIDDLE pickups “in Series” for a hot, humbucking “boost mode” preset. Of course all the classic Stratocaster sounds you know and love are still there too- Right where they should be.

Built for Comfort and Playability

This particular guitar is based on modified 1950s Strat specs and sports a hand-distressed, Relic finish package designed to replicate the look of a well-cared for, yet well-played musical companion after many decades of use! That said, even though the Fender Custom Shop Master Vintage Player Series 2-Step Stratocaster may look and feel like an actual vintage instrument, it plays like a dream. The neck is custom spec'd by Make'n Music and designed for comfort! It's based on the 10/56 “V" profile but with slightly slimmer dimensions (.860"-.960"), and carved from a beautiful piece of AAAA Flame / Roasted Maple for the utmost in tone and stability. Easier chording, faster leads, and big bends are all made possible thanks to the 1&11/16" nut width, 9.5" fingerboard radius, and 6105 fret wire. Adjustments are a breeze too! The Truss Rod is accessible from the headstock, so you no longer have to remove the neck for a tweak. Slick!
