People’s Park Complex 珍珠坊

Hi Everyone

In this video, we will be exploring the rooftop of People’s Park Complex, the Residential block, which gives off bits of Old Hong Kong vibes.

People’s Park Complex was completed in 1973 and it was the largest shopping complex in Singapore then. The building is now 51 years old and quite rundown but holds lots of memories and heritage for Singaporeans.

Presently, the huge spacious rooftop is popular amongst young adults; cosplayers’ favourite spot for photographs, unique background for tik-tokers in their videos, popular instagrammable backdrop and people just chilling with friends.

There are currently talks of URA’s ongoing conservation study of People’s Park Complex due to its high heritage and historical significance but its findings have yet to be concluded.
