A Forever Recovery is committed to helping our patients with every step that they take on the path to leading a healthy and positive lifestyle, free from the bonds of drugs and alcohol. From the moment that they walk through the doors of our substance abuse treatment facility, it is obvious that there is something different about our recovery program and our staff members. The dedication to each patient’s successful rehabilitation is evident from the very start, beginning with our medically supervised detox clinic, where each patient undergoes a personal medical evaluation to determine his or her individual needs and situation. From there, the personalized care continues, as they discuss the direction that their program will take with their case manager and counselor. As every patient is different, so too will his or her recovery program be unique. AFR offers many options in treatment, allowing the patient to discover the methods of rehabilitation that will work best for them.
Tracy came to A Forever Recovery from Maryland after struggling with alcohol abuse for many years. Initially, she believed that she was only hurting herself, but eventually realized that she was causing pain to so many more people than just herself. After she came to her husband with a desire to seek help, she found our recovery center. From the moment she arrived, as her case manager took her to the cafeteria for lunch, she knew that the staff here truly cared about her and wanted to help her through her healing process. “You start seeing your counselor once a week,” Tracy says, “and you start working with your case manager on what your needs are, how you are going to approach your problem, and how you are going to continue with your recovery when you leave here.” Our program doesn’t just address the symptoms of addiction. It focuses on a complete rehabilitation, from rebuilding the physical body to rediscovering personal connections with the world around us.
As part of our dedication to our patients’ full and complete recovery from addiction, we have an extensive After Care department that continues to offer assistance in transitioning to a substance-free lifestyle. After Care begins to take shape while the patient is still working through their program, and, through careful consideration of all aspects of the patient’s life, a plan is formed that will guide them through the steps necessary for making sober living arrangements, finding recovery support groups in the local area, and even helping with job placement. At A Forever Recovery, we believe that our obligation to our patients and their recovery does not end at graduation. As Tracy shares, “You have to realize that, as much work as you put in here and as many tools as you gain, it’s not over when you walk out that front door. It’s a lifetime commitment.”
The patients at A Forever Recovery find a new outlook on life and a new appreciation for the world around us, and everyone in it. They discover a renewed sense of self confidence, purpose and drive. They find that they are able to become functional and productive members of society. They find the strength within to hope for a brighter future, free from the bonds of addiction.
