Air temps in my part of Texas are in the 100's with todays temp of 104. We are on the lake using the wind to stay cool and move the boat for drift fishing. The surface water temp is in the mid 90.

We catch bait up shallow against brush and grass. We are using gizzard shad, some will be cut some will be whole. Catfish have zero sense of smell but rather have taste buds from head to tail. This fish is a swimming tongue, tasting the water as it attempts to locate food. We scale all the shad to put more taste in the water. Then vary the bait sizes to see what the fish prefer.

We are drifting with 17 pound main line and 30 lb leader line on a santee rig. Phril and I manage a few fish with one in the 30's.
