1984 Florida USA Finale & Television Special

The 1984 Miss Florida USA took place in July of 1983 originating from Parker Playhouse. The Broward County Tourism Initiative hosted the delegates and sponsored the television broadcast for the second year in our return to the air. This was the first of the traditional two-hour live broadcast format shown around the state and internationally that would continue until 2016 under the direction of The Gravitt family and Tel-Air. Hosted by longtime MC Dick Lamb and Miss USA 1982 Terri Utley led the show seen in over 80 countries and all ten markets in Florida. The pageant was won by Stacy Hassfurder of Tallahassee who won the title and represented the Sunshine State at Miss USA. It’s been great sharing our hard work and memories of when Miss Florida USA and Miss Florida Teen USA ruled the Pageant World! You can tell we had humble beginnings but eventually we heightened the pageant experience in The Sunshine State and with a run of 35 years of broadcasts to a very large and loyal viewing audience from Pensacola to The Florida Keys.
