Effective organizations use a combination of old-fashioned organizing and new tools for data mining in their effort to document and disrupt abuse. Videre est Credere equips vulnerable communities with cameras and training to safely document and expose human rights violations and other abuse. Initially founded by two seniors at Brown, ,Polaris works to combat modern day slavery, by running the National Human Trafficking Hotline, building one of the largest data sets on modern cay slavery in the US – a data set made public for use by researchers, activists and law enforcement. And the Fair Food Program works to improve working conditions and wages for farm laborers by creating a partnership between workers, growers and buyers.
