North Beach is located on the north eastern part of the city nestled in between Russian Hill, Telegraph Hill bordered by North Waterfront to the North and to the South, Nob Hill and the Financial District.

This neighborhood is popular amongst folks who work in the FiDi as it's easily accessible but offers more of a neighborhood feel with a variety of Victorian and Edwardian homes mixed with a few low rise buildings nestled between tons of shops, restaurants and parks.

But what's it like to live in North Beach? Well, there's so much to do. North Beach is home to several landmarks and attractions that draw visitors from all around the world. One of the most famous is Washington Square Park, a bustling public square that serves at the heart of the neighborhood and the park is home to a number of events throughout the year including concerts, festivals and community gatherings.

North Beach is also home to other very popular landmarks. One of which is the TransAmerica Pyramid. A distinctive skyscraper that is one of the most recognizable landmarks in San Francisco. Additionally, on top of Telegraph Hill stands the iconic Coit Tower. You can go inside the lower level of the tower and view the many murals for no charge.

Once you've finished with the murals, you can buy a ticket to ascend to the top of the tower for the observation deck. North Beach is a diverse neighborhood with a mix of different cultures and backgrounds. This creates a welcoming and inclusive community where people of all walks of life can feel at home.

One of the best parts of North Beach is the food. Food is another major draw to the neighborhood with dozens of restaurants and cafes offering a range of Italian and international cuisines. Some of the most popular dishes in North Beach include pizza and pasta and seafood and visitors can find everything from casual cafes to upscale dining experiences. Some of the neighborhood favorites include Tony's Pizza. The award-winning pizzeria is known for its authentic Neapolitan style pizza. Original Joe's is another classic Italian-American restaurant and has been a fixture of the North Beach for over 80 years.

What can you expect to buy in North Beach and at what price? Largely, the inventory in North Beach are historic condos & TIC’s with very few newer buildings. The Palace on Powell is one such exception and offers 90 luxury units that range from 2 to 3 bedrooms. Single family homes in the neighborhood are fewer and farther between. As an example, there were only four single family homes that sold in the last three years versus there were 23 condos & TIC’s that sold in the last year in the neighborhood.

So how does this neighborhood compare to adjacent neighborhoods? In North Beach, The average price per square foot for a two bedroom condo is just under $1,100 come in at $1,076 a square foot. For an average price of $1,100,000. In Telegraph Hill, the average price for a two bedroom condo is just shy of a million at $989,000 with an average price per square foot of $1,120.
