📍 The willow river state park is a state park located in western wisconsin. It is based on the banks of the willow river that flows through the park and forms several unique waterfalls.
One of the main attraction is the willow falls. This waterfall drop a total of 100 feet over a distance of a quarter mile.
When we were there, the water was as cold as ice, while it was sunny in the 80 degrees.
To get to the Willow falls, it is accessible through hiking trails along the scenic woodlands of the park. We could tell that we were getting close to the falls because of the cool breeze from the falls. The closer we got to the waterfall, the cooler the temperature dropped. Once in the water, there was a unique space behind the falls where we sat and enjoyed the sounds of the fall. This place is truly a hidden gem that you won't fully appreciate until you experience it for yourself. However, having water shoes would have made this experience more enjoyable. Every step was stepping onto rocks. There were pockets of pools within this area that were as high as our waist level. This is us. at the willow river state park.
