19 opposition parties, including Congress and TMC, announced to boycott the inauguration ceremony of the new Parliament building on Wednesday (May 24). Opposition parties alleged that the soul of democracy has been removed from the Parliament during the tenure of this government. Keeping President Draupadi Murmu away from this is a direct attack on democracy. Describing this move of the opposition as unfortunate, the government said that the opposition parties should reconsider their decision. Union Home Minister Amit Shah has said that politics should not be done in every matter. Shah said, "Don't mix politics with this. It is a big emotional process to connect new India with old traditions. It should be seen only in this limited sense. Politics goes its own way. Everyone reacts and works according to their thinking abilities. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the new building of Parliament on 28 May. Describing the announcement of the opposition parties as unfortunate, Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Prahlad Joshi urged them to reconsider their stand. Joshi said that boycotting and making a non-issue an issue is most unfortunate. I appeal to them to reconsider this decision and attend the function. Joshi said that the Speaker of the Lok Sabha is the guardian of the Parliament and has invited the Prime Minister to inaugurate the Parliament House.

कांग्रेस और टीएमसी सहित विपक्ष के 19 दलों ने संसद के नए भवन के उद्घाटन समारोह का बुधवार (24 मई) को बहिष्कार करने का ऐलान किया. विपक्षी पार्टियों ने आरोप लगाया कि इस सरकार के कार्यकाल में संसद से लोकतंत्र की आत्मा को निकाल दिया गया है. इससे राष्ट्रपति द्रौपदी मुर्मू को दूर रखना लोकतंत्र पर सीधा हमला है. सरकार ने विपक्ष के इस कदम को दुर्भाग्यपूर्ण करार देते हुए कहा कि विपक्षी पार्टियों को अपने इस फैसले पर पुनर्विचार करना चाहिए. केंद्रीय गृह मंत्री अमित शाह ने कहा है कि हर मामले में राजनीति नहीं करनी चाहिए. शाह ने कहा, ''राजनीति को इसके साथ मत जोड़िए. एक बड़ी भावनात्मक प्रक्रिया है कि पुरानी परंपराओं से नए भारत को जोड़ने की. इसको इतने ही सीमित अर्थ में देखना चाहिए. राजनीति अपनी जगह चलती है. सब अपनी सोचने की क्षमताओं के अनुसार रिएक्शन देते हैं और काम करते हैं.'' प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी 28 मई को संसद के नए भवन का उद्घाटन करेंगे. विपक्षी दलों की घोषणा को दुर्भाग्यपूर्ण करार देते हुए केंद्रीय संसदीय कार्य मंत्री प्रह्लाद जोशी ने उनसे अपने रुख पर पुनर्विचार करने का आग्रह किया. जोशी ने कहा कि बहिष्कार करना और गैर-मुद्दे को मुद्दा बनाना सर्वाधिक दुर्भाग्यपूर्ण है. मैं उनसे इस फैसले पर पुनर्विचार करने और समारोह में शामिल होने की अपील करता हूं. जोशी ने कहा कि लोकसभा अध्यक्ष संसद के संरक्षक हैं और उन्होंने प्रधानमंत्री को संसद भवन का उद्घाटन करने के लिए आमंत्रित किया है.
