Canada union strikes: What's behind all of the labour disputes?

Teamsters Canada Rail Conference (TCRC), the union representing workers at Canadian National Rail, issued a strike notice on Friday.

The notice of labour action comes just a day after the federal government announced it would impose binding arbitration between the union and Canada's two main railway companies, Canadian National (CN) and Canadian Pacific Kansas City Ltd. (CPKC).

The country faced a similar challenge last year when B.C. port workers walked off the job. And nurses, teachers and pilots, among others have all taken to the picket lines.
