Music marketing in the twenties was amazingly obscure. The proponderance of anonymity, coming in forms like "with vocal refrain" for the singers on the records, and the number of times that pseudonyms for both musicians and vocalists were used, is bewildering. Frank Munn was also known as Oliver Smith on Cameo and Paul Oliver on Victor, which was backed up by Virginia Rea as Olive Palmer. Palmolive had a radio show running from 1927 - 1931, and Rea and Munn were the featured vocalists. The following are the credits for many of Bob Haring's records.

The trumpet solo towards the end of Sentimental Me has a bix-ish feel, and Bix had been in New York as early as 1924, but there seems to be a gap until late in 1926, recording with Jean Goldkette. Comparing Red Nichol's playing at the time, I feel that the solo is more representative of Bix himself, but there is another option. Sterling Bose could very well have played this as Bob Haring directed a session three years later with Bose. ~ Mickey Clark
