Balochistan faces soaring flour prices amid severe wheat shortage

Balochistan is witnessing a sharp rise in flour prices due to a severe wheat shortage. Across the province, the price of one kilogram of flour has reached **PKR 145**, causing significant distress among the public.

Market sources report that a 20-kg bag of flour is being sold for *up to PKR 2,900* in interior areas of Balochistan, while the price of a 50-kg bag has surged beyond **PKR 7,000**.

Citizens expressed strong dissatisfaction over the inflation, saying that despite the arrival of the holy month of **Ramadan**, the government is increasing prices instead of lowering them.

On the other hand, dealer owners stated that they are compelled to sell flour at higher rates because wheat and flour themselves are being procured at steep prices, and the government has provided no subsidy or available stock.

Finally, the public urged the government to *immediately reduce flour prices* so that the poor and middle class can buy flour at affordable rates and be relieved from this severe crisis.
