About the speakers

After starting his college career at MIT, Tom transferred to Cornell to study landscape architecture and ultimately travel in the UK for two years researching some of the world’s best courses in preparation for a career in golf. Over the past few decades, Tom has been a leader in the minimalist school of design as he has designed and restored courses around the world.

Brian Zager provides golf design related services to clients and is an independent golf design associate for Tom Doak.  He creates mods for racing computer simulation games in his spare time. He enjoys working in the golf course architecture business and applying his technical background to the field. 

About the moderators

Kim Dinh is the Vice President of the MIT Alumni Golfers Association. She recently completed her Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering at MIT. While at MIT, she served as president of MIT Club Golf from 2016-2019. Prior to that, Kim played for the University of Wisconsin women's golf team. Currently, Kim is a chemical engineer at Dow in Midland, MI. She is also the reigning U.S. Women’s Mid-Am Champion and will be competing in the U.S. Women’s Open in Hershey, PA later this spring.

Jeff Phillips is a Board member of the MIT Alumni Golfers Association and a Golf Digest Panelist. While getting his MBA at MIT, he co-founded the MIT Sloan Golf Club. Currently, Jeff is Chief Operating Officer for Youth Enrichment Brands.
