It's May 1988 and i'm at Manchester Piccadilly in the evening peak. We see class 86/4 & 87 on Inter-City workings , plenty of classic slam door DMU & EMU's including ex Scotrail class 303s plus a class 142 Pacer and a couple of class 150 Sprinters, still in Provincial sector livery.
