Small Spring Flowers that bloom April ~ June


Small size Perennial ~ Herbaceous Plant
Perennials: Perennial Plants return year after year, blooming in the second season and for many years to come.
They grow more slowly, and in the first season focus most energy on establishing strong roots, so they typically don't bloom until their second year.

Herbaceous: Herbaceous plants are plants that have non-woody stems, including grasses, sedges, rushes, ferns, and forbs.
Forbs are broad-leaf plants often referred to as wildflowers or weeds. Annual herbaceous plants live for only one year, whereas perennials live for multiple years.

Flowers are Pale Yellow and Bell Shaped
6 Petals - 6 Stamens

Petal ~ are modified leaves that surround the reproductive parts of flowers. They are often brightly colored or unusually shaped to attract pollinators.

Stamens ~ the male fertilizing organ of a flower, typically consisting of a pollen-containing anther and a filament.

Flowers are 3/4 - 1"
Stems are Smooth and appear to pierce thru the leaves
Stems grow 6-12" Long
Leaves are Pale Green ~ Can look like Grass when it first comes up
Leaves are Lily Like Leaves and Oval Shape
Leaves grow 1-3" long and 1" wide
Alternate/Entire Leaves

Alternate-leaves ~ the leaves are single at each node and borne along the stem alternately in an ascending spiral.

Entire Leaf - a leaf having a smooth margin without notches or indentations


Sessile-Leaf Bellwort's don't need a lot of Sunlight and can handle some shade
They grow in Wet or Dry Soil


The Pollen is beneficial to Pollinators Bees and Wildlife


Sessile-Leaf Bellwort is Non-invasive and is a Native Plant to North America
