The Beef Between African Americans and American Africans | Victor Muthama | TEDxCMU

Описание к видео The Beef Between African Americans and American Africans | Victor Muthama | TEDxCMU

The US Government hasn’t recognized Victor as American for his whole life, despite the fact that it’s the environmental culture that he grew up in. Likewise, in Kenya, he is hardly recognized as Kenyan either. In his talk, Victor explores the relationship between African Americans and Africans, and dives into the history and potential causes of these dynamics. He poses the question, why do the cultures clash more than blend? Victor Muthama is a Kenyan born Pittsburgh raised artist. Music and science were early interests of his from a young age. He has been classically trained in piano for over 5 years and vocal performance for over 15. He currently is a 1HOOD artist but has not left his love for science. Victor coordinates the CVC at UPMC and also works for Bank of the West California. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
