PsyTrance

It is one of several sub-sub-styles (or level 2 styles) of Electronic Dance Music (EDM). In the family you can find other styles such as Melodic Trance, Euphoric Trance, Vocal or the oldest, Euro Trance (also known as Classic Trance). All trance is characterized by having high beats per minute, usually always around 135bpm or more.

Psy is known for having different types of beats because it focuses on deeper, less orchestral sounds and has more variability. It also uses more “pauses” in order to showcase the melodies and create ambience. It often has an almost “alien” sound, with many of the themes being related to it or to some kind of spirituality, mostly anything that isn't Christian (or similar). Other recurring themes include love, space, nature and mental health.

PsyTrance is also known to help with focus, relaxation, sleep or even headaches.
