Darcia Narvaez is a psychologist at the University of Notre Dame.
She has developed a prominent synthesis of research from psychology with philosophical theories of virtue and the role of empathy in moral experience. She has published extensively including her recent books “Contexts for Young Child Flourishing: Evolution, Family and Society”, and her award winning “Neurobiology and the Development of Human Morality: Evolution, Culture and Wisdom”. Michael Slote is a philosopher at the University of Miami. He has the most extensively developed philosophical account of the roles of virtue ethics, empathy and care ethics in moral experience. His recent books include Human Development and Human Life, Moral Sentimentalism, and A Sentimentalist Theory of Mind.
