The Seiko 7T32-7G30 Daytona is one of the classic and much sought after Seiko chronographs.

This Seiko chronograph did not have too many problems, actually less wear and tear than one would normally expect from a chronograph watch of its age.

The rotating bezel was slightly stiff to turn, there were a few small scratches on the crystal, case and bracelet. I could have left these but decided to replace the crystal (Hardlex) and its gasket, I also refurbished the case and bracelet to a polished finish. A polished finish is correct for the 7G30 Daytona and a brushed finish for the 7G20 Daytona.

I completely dismantled the movement for cleaning and reassembled it, noting that the circuit block had condensation beads of leaking battery vapour and a build up of corrosion at the positive terminal. The circuit block was cleaned and restored to like new and fully tested, no damage was caused by the leaking battery/s.

Now fully serviced and reassembled, the watch should last for many years to come.
