About the series:
As an extension of the World Music Heritage Series conceived and produced by maestro Bhai Baldeep Singh for Anād Records, the YaarAnād Virtual Baithak Series aims to celebrate excellence in the field of music, arts, dance, theatre, and literature. The YaarAnād Virtual Baithak Series marks the 550th birth anniversary Gurū Nānak Dēv, the first gurū of the Sikhs.

Il maestro:
Saami Brothers Qawwal — Rauf Saami, Urooj Saami, Azeem Saami, and Ahmed Saami belong to the Qawwal-Bachon-Ka-Gharānā of Delhi. This 700-plus-year-old gharānā was started by Sāmat Bin Ibrahim, the principal student of Hazrat Amir Khusrau. This Gharana has produced famous Ustāds like the late Ustād Tanras Khan who was a court musician, and tutor in classical music, of Bahadur Shah Zafar, the last Mughal Emperor.
The Saami Brothers have had the honour of studying classical music under the rigorous and critical tutelage by their three mentors — late Ustād Munshi Raziuddin Khan, late Ustād Nizamuudin Saami, and their father, Ustād Naseeruddin Saami. The Saami Brothers are versed with various genres of classical music, such as Dhrupad, Khayāl, Tarānā, Thumrī, and Dādrā which they blend beautifully during their performances of qawwālī. The brothers received praise for their classical music performance at The All Pakistan Music Conference. Saami brothers are known for singing in several languages including Urdu, Sindhi, Punjabi, Arabic, Hindi, Brij Bhasha, Saraiki, and Persian.
