Located in remote "Oregon's Outback," Fort Rock is a stand-alone volcanic tuff ring. Almost a mile in diameter, the walls of of Fort Rock rise up as much as 200 ft (61 m) above the desert floor.

This video maps the journey to the Fort Rock from Salem, Oregon and the gives a "flyover view" of the feature.
