Massive wildfires are still burning through the US West Coast with firefighters working hard to contain almost 100 blazes. As the sun came up on another day in California, locals woke to an eerie orange glow in the sky. It's caused by smoke from the massive fire nearby and they're still spreading at a really fast rate.

Nearby states, Washington and Oregon are now battling their own blazes, which authorities say are some of the worst in history. In some areas the damage has been catastrophic and entire towns have been destroyed. People here are hoping the hot and windy conditions soon settle, and firefighters have a chance to get the fires under control.

WWF NUMBERS RELEASED
Two-thirds of the earth's animals have been wiped out in just fifty years. Those are the latest figures from the World Wildlife Fund. It says farming, deforestation and habitat loss are to blame.

BIG WAVE RECORD
Brazilian surfer Maya Gabeira has broken her own world record for riding a really, really, really big wave. She rode a 22.4 meter monster in Portugal back in February, but now she's officially been handed the Guinness World Record for largest wave surfed by a woman. It's also the biggest wave ridden by any surfer over the past year.

FRENCH SMALL ELECTRIC CAR
A French car maker has unveiled a new car for people as young as 14. You read that right, in France if a small car meets certain specifications then you're allowed to drive it without a licence. They are entirely electric, go about 45 kilometers per hour, and you're not allowed to drive them on big motorways. The most basic version will set you back nearly $10,000. Look, it's a bit rich, but I would've loved one.

ED SHEERAN'S FIRST ALBUM SELLS
You might remember we told you about Ed Sheeran's very first album going up for auction. Yeah, the one that he really didn't want anyone to hear. Well it's been sold! And it ended up selling for $88,000. You could say that's a bit rich. But to Ed Sheeran fans, I'd say it's priceless.
