Bidaram Krishnappa Coln: Rantideb Maitra

Описание к видео Bidaram Krishnappa Coln: Rantideb Maitra

78rpm. Side 2 (Raga Neelambari) of Vidwan B. Krishnappa's 1916 record (Side 1 with Raga Hamsadhwani was posted earlier). Sri B Kriashnappa (1866–1931), was a Durbar musician of the kingdom of Mysore and noted musicians including Pt. T Chowdiah & Ut. Aman Ali Khan (of Bhendi Bazar Gharana) were some of his disciples. In the last century, both Hindustani and Carnatic music co-existed within the Mysore royal Durbars, resulting in ample cultural exchanges between the two streams. Thus, keen listeners will observe Hindustani music influences in Bidaramji's musical renderings. 'The confluence of North and South, Ganga and Cauvery will be more apparent in the recording of his celebrated pupil , T Chowdiah' - Sri Rantideb Maitra of Kolkata.
Many thanks to Maitraji for making these valuable records available to us.
