This documentary is a gift for Rosia Montana and its people in order to celebrate the day when this very old locality was born on 6th of February.
NGO Pachamama Romania, as a militant for nature protection in Romania reconsidering the relationship human-nature, now at the peak of industrialization, generously offered the posibility of writing a new cinematographic page dedicated to future of Rosia Montana as a whole.
The effort was complemented by ensuring production by the Association Heritage, UNESCO partner , the association is concerned, among other things, of the protection of architectural heritage of Rosia Montana but also a secure future for a clean environment and a susteinable living of Motii,too often forgotten in history.
“All our actions, including „ROSIA MONTANA AZI” film, aim to ensure a environmentally sustainable, spiritually fulfilling and socially just future for us and for future generations. It is a responsability we have and we are committed to fullfill it.
Rosia Montana opened our hearts and helped us to feel the love and passion which makes us act firmly, no matter what obstacles we encountered.
It is love for Nature, people, life itself, that fear of uncertainity is diminished and we may feel the Magic of Life, a feeling that bring us together in order to cooperate and act for a greater purpose. For this there must be harmony and forgiveness , forgiveness of the past and a beginning of a new chapter. It is like a canvas that contain no color, on we can thus put creatively desired colors and paint gorgeous scenery. It will be a new beginning, full of light and divine radiance. (Pachamama Romania)
Related to this wonderful and tried to time area, the author was and is a lover of places, people, myths and stories of nearly 65 years being jettisoned at a few months of live by the will of fate in this splendid, proud and tragic city of Apuseni Mountains.
He doesn’t forgot and will not forget those places anymore, mastered by stone and towering trees after whose face were cut Motis of ridges and valleys raised on coveted but deceptively bed of gold.
As a result, in the last 12 years the author has done, along with fellow intrepid, more than 10 TV movies on the topic of places, people, place, myths and even first raising phenomenon, after '89, of a communiti in order to claim rights on the earth left by ancestors that constituted the phenomenon Save Rosia Montana, a phenomenon that in its uniqueness managed to wake up almost all categories of citizens of the country who have joined almost miraculously for these times, struggle and resistance 17 years of people whose verticality, strength and balance seemed to have disappeared from the Romanian nation.
Filming was done in July and August 2015. The author has entrusted the whole discourse of this film, interviews, residents and their supporters in Cluj, Bucharest, Alba Iulia.
He thus wanted to convey to others their thoughts and hopes about the present and especially the future. They talk about how they think and hope will revive their patch of land whose destiny they want to be ,naturally, into their own hands.
A few months after filming was completed the new Culture Minister Vlad Alexandrescu signed the return of Rosia Montana as a Historical site,status in category A. – national importance- a status that was raised a few years ago.
At the same time the Minister of Culture notified DNA in case of Rosia Montana because "there are signs that it would be irregularities both in terms of heritage there as well about other heritage objectives ranked in Category A."
The night before the day of Rosia Montana in the February 6, 2016 the Minister of Culture confirmed that he communicated to the World Heritage Centre in Paris, the intent of enrollment of the mining cultural landscape in Rosia Montana on Romania’s indicative list of World Heritage.
