Community First Health Plans: Texas Medicaid and Health Insurance

For 30 years, Community First Health Plans has worked hard to provide high-quality Medicaid and Health Insurance Plans for every generation of families, children, expectant mothers, seniors, and children and adults with special needs in Bexar County and its seven surrounding counties.

Community First covers Medicaid and CHIP services at no or low cost. The programs we serve are STAR Medicaid, STAR Kids, STAR+PLUS, CHIP, and CHIP Perinatal. We cover regular checkups, prescription drug coverage, hospital stays, vision, dental, pregnancy care, mental health services, disability services, and transportation to medical appointments. We also offer Value-Added Services, including gift card rewards for completing healthy actions like getting your flu shot, going to prenatal checkups, and completing diabetic health screenings. Community First STAR Medicaid

STAR Medicaid provides no-cost health coverage for low-income children, pregnant women, and families in Texas. STAR Medicaid covers services needed to keep you and your child healthy, including:
*Regular checkups at the doctor and dentist
*Prescription drugs and vaccines
*Hospital care and services
*X-rays and lab tests
*Vision and hearing care
*Access to medical specialists and mental health care
*Treatment of special health needs
*Treatment of pre-existing conditions

Community First STAR Kids

*Prescription drug coverage, including prenatal vitamins
*Labor and delivery
