Testing Oldschool VST Synthesizers #11 - Native Instruments Massive (2007)

I've received at least 2 requests to test NI Massive for this series I'm doing, so here it is. Massive has never really been a synth I've been using, primarily because I was put off by it's complexity back when I knew nothing about synthesizers. Eventually new synths like Serum, Rapid, Phase Plant, Avenger etc, pretty much took over its place, among with NI's new synth Massive X (which I've also made videos on).

Massive is however capable of some very diverse sounds and not just Skrillex wobbles, it is capable of nice sounding soundscapes for example (but this will require a good external reverb, like Valhalla Room which is a personal favorite of mine). For a legacy VST, it was in my opinion an impressive VST for its time when it came out. These days, as mentioned earlier, there are better options. But just because something is considered to be legacy/vintage, doesn't mean it is useless! :)
