In this clip, John Salley opened up about his friendship with Luther Vandross and starring in his music video for "Can I Take You Out Tonight?" John explained that Luther was gay, but he felt that he couldn't come out publicly for fear of being canceled. John then went on to point to Elton John and other celebrities seemingly trying to hide their sexuality early in their careers.
