What are the best settings for the Rode VideoMic Pro?

I recently filmed some interviews outside using my Rode VideoMic Pro and when I got home I was not happy with the results.

Basically I realized at that moment I did not know my gear as good as I thought I did.

So I took my shotgun mic outside and did some testing with various settings to see what kind of quality I could get in a noisy environment.

If you have this mic, I hope this helps you avoid the mistakes I made so you can capture the best audio possible.

Test conclusion, best settings for outdoor filming (my preference):

Camera audio set to 15db
Rode Mic Pro, High pass filter = ON
Rode Mic Pro -10db
