In October 1874, a small preparatory school was opened in Elko, Nevada, with an enrollment of only 7 students. With vision and determination, the institution grew and reopened in 1886 with a class of thirty-five at the campus now located in Reno. At the time of the University of Nevada, Reno's Sesquicentennial, nearly 21,000 students pursue degrees that prepare them for careers in their chosen professions. During the next 150 years, the University will continue to graduate exceptional students, looking to the future while recollecting the extraordinary dedication and achievements of the people who make the Wolf Pack what it is today.
